Relapse Prevention Support

Have you found yourself denying that you need to work a program of responsible living? Is your communication with others becoming increasingly negative? Do you find yourself looking for evidence of problems in your life? Have you been experiencing relapse-prone negative thinking, or even euphoric recall (remembering how good the alcohol or other drugs used to work and how awful it is that you can’t use them now)? Is this negative thinking leading you to experience uncomfortable and/or painful emotions? Are these feelings producing self-defeating urges, often followed by self-destructive behaviors? Maybe you haven’t picked up substances yet, but find yourself somewhere in the above description-
in relapse mode.

If you relate to any of the above, you are not alone! Many recovering people relapse, despite their best intentions not to do so. And most everyone in long-term sobriety has found themselves in relapse mode at some point in their recovery journey, even if they never experienced a chemical relapse.

Get help today, and stop the relapse process from progressing any further.

  • In our work together, I will help you to identify and learn to manage your personal self-defeating pattern of warning signs that set you up to relapse.

We will begin by reviewing how you are currently monitoring and managing stress, and learn additional effective strategies. We will review past efforts at recovery and identify hidden relapse warning signs that may have been overlooked in the past. We will gain a better understanding of patterns of behavior or recurring life problems that have set you up to relapse in the past or may set you up for a relapse in the future. We will collaboratively develop your individualized relapse warning sign list, and learn how to manage the thoughts, feelings, urges, actions, and reactions that go along with those. We will build a recovery program for relapse prevention and support you in implementing it in your life.

  • This service is designed for people in recovery from alcohol, drug addiction, or process addictions, who have a history of relapse, are currently afraid that they might relapse, or want to strengthen their recovery.

Anyone on a recovery journey would deeply benefit from this service. You don’t have to consider yourself a “chronic relapser” or even have experience with a chemical relapse. If you are interested in protecting your recovery, then relapse prevention work is for you!
